About the SWaN Platform
The Stream Wetland and Nutrient (SWaN) exchange is the result of a combined effort between Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality and Water Ledger.
SWaN provides an open, public marketplace for stream, wetland, and nutrient mitigation credits where buyers and sellers trade on a level playing field, with full price transparency and regulatory provenance.
Using your SWaN wallet you can:
- manage your credits or permits
- manage user access and permissions
- see real-time market availability and pricing
- get forecasts of future credit availability and demand
- gain access to a DEQ/RIBITS interface to ease regulatory compliance
- generate reports and export data for offline analysis
