About the Platform
The Stream Wetland and Nutrient (SWaN) exchange is the result of a combined effort between Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality and Water Ledger.
SWaN will provide an open, public marketplace for stream, wetland, and nutrient mitigation credits where buyers and sellers trade on a level playing field, with full price transparency and regulatory provenance.
Using your SWaN wallet you can:
- manage your credits or permits
- manage user access and permissions
- see real-time market availability and pricing
- get forecasts of future credit availability and demand
- gain access to a DEQ/RIBITS interface to ease regulatory compliance
- generate reports and export data for offline analysis
